Cetacean Marine performs project work for the Philly Shipyard and the NASSCO Shipbuilding Corp.
Cetacean Marine was selected by AKER Philly Shipyard and NASSCO Shipbuilding Corp. to perform the builders sea and acceptance trials on the Matson “Aloha” Class of 3,600 TEU container ships. These are the largest container vessels ever built in a US shipyard. The successful trials of second vessel, the M/V Kaimana Hila, were completed in March of 2019. This was the 30th ship built by Philly Shipyard and the 12th ship trialed by Cetacean Marine Services Inc.
Cetacean Marine has been selected to provide the sea trial services for the 5 new MARAD training vessels. The T/S Empire State (ship # 31) was trialed in July 2023 and the T/S Patriot State (Ship # 32) in August 2024, with three more to follow.
Cetacean has performed 13 sea trials for NASSCO from 2020-2024 on commercial (Matson) and USN/USNS vessels.
