Cetacean Marine performs project work for the Philly Shipyard and the NASSCO Shipbuilding Corp.
Cetacean Marine was selected by Hanwha Philly Shipyard and NASSCO Shipbuilding Corp. to perform the builders, sea and acceptance trials, on the Matson “Aloha” Class of 3,600 TEU container ships. These are the largest container vessels ever built in a US shipyard. The successful trial of the school ship T/S State of Maine, was completed in March of 2026. This was the 35th ship built by Hanwha Philly Shipyard and the 16th ship trialed by Cetacean Marine Services Inc.
Cetacean Marine has been selected to provide the sea trial services for the 4th new MARAD training vessel. The T/S Lone Star State (ship # 36) which will be trialed in the spring/summer of 2026
Cetacean has performed 18 sea trials for NASSCO from 2020-2026 on commercial (Matson) and USN/USNS vessels.

Ce.ta.cean (si ta’shen) n. [L. cetus], large sea animal; any of an order (Cetacea) of; nearly hairless, fishlike water mammals, lacking external hind limbs, but having paddle-like forelimbs. Whales, porpoises and manatees are cetaceans.
